The Department of Geology and Geophysics has an opening for a Departmental Network/Systems Administrator. Persons interested in this position should send a letter and resume to Dr. William E. Responsibilities include:
Maintaining and upgrading Student Computer Lab (~ 15 computers
as well as peripherals)
Maintaining wireless computing services in Pillsbury Hall
Maintaining and upgrading departmental servers, printers, and copiers
Working with research groups to solve their network/system needs
Upgrading system software as needed
Being departmental liaison with Office of Information Technology and
Networking/Telecommunication Services
Qualifications:
A bachelorís degree and a background in computer systems with training and/or experience in a wide variety of operating systems and network administration. Excellent oral and written communication skills.
A person with some familiarity with earth science
applications is preferred.
