Rachel Warner and Louise Wight, sisters of alumnus Richard Dennis, wished to provide the means to support students in the study of geology at the University of Minnesota. Available to geology and geophysics majors and based on merit and financial need. Recipient must be a full time registered student. |

Fred A. Donath Honors Scholarship in Geosciences |

To support one student per year who is entering the final year of undergraduate work in geosciences in the Department of Geology and Geophysics at the University of Minnesota. Student must have an outstanding academic record and preference shall be given to someone wishing to pursue graduate work and who would be qualified for admittance to the best graduate departments. Recipient must be a full time registered student. |

Field Camp Scholarships |
Amount and number of awards vary from year to year depending on funds available. |
The University of Minnesota Geological Society (formerly GeoClub) and the Department of Geology and Geophysics provide funds annually to help defray the cost of field camp for students. Available to geology or geophysics majors enrolled in one of the departmental summer field courses, based on merit and financial need. |

J. Chris Kraft Undergraduate Scholarship |

Scholarship established by J. Chris Kraft, MS 1952, PhD 1955, for training or research experience for meritorious undergraduate majors in geology and geophysics. Recipient must be a full time registered student. |

Scholarships established in memory of Ralph E. McMillen, 1939 alumnus, for one sophomore, one junior, and one senior majoring in geology, geophysics or geo-engineering. Recipient must be a full time registered student. |

This scholarship honors Sidney A. Parkans, who graduated with a BS in Geology in 1946 and has been a professional geologist since 1960. This scholarship is intended first for graduates of high schools in either Scotland, South Dakota or Ishpeming, Michigan, or who are children of employees of Cleveland-Cliffs Inc. Should there be no students from these three sources, then preference is given to I.T. students pursuing a degree in the Department of Geology and Geophysics. Recipient must be a full time registered student. |
