Abbey is interested in many aspects of hydrogeology. Currently she is working, together
with Julian (Nino) D'Andrea, on a numerical modeling project (senior thesis). Abbey is developing
a computer model to simulate groundwater-surface water interactions for a large-scale
physical model that may be built at the Minnesota Science Museum. The idea is that before
building such a large physical model it is necessary to simulate different sediment
materials and their layering to find a combination of materials that allow demonstration
of hydrological processes within minutes as necessary in a museum setting.
