Research Interests

My research interests include everything on this geofluids web site. My students and I are interested in the broad field of geological and geophysical fluid dynamics. We are investigating quantitatively physical processes in such diverse areas as hydrogeology, volcanology, and tectonics. To do this we conduct field work to collect data or (rock, water, lava, ...) samples, we carry out physical experiments in the wet lab, and we develop numerical and analytical models ranging from back-of-the-envelope calculations to multi-processor computer simulations.

More information on current research projects, tools, methods, and funding is available when clicking on Geofluids Research below.
