Stuart Walsh

Postdoc
Department of Geology and Geophysics
University of Minnesota - Twin Cities
Ph.D., 2005, University of Melbourne, Australia, in Applied Mathematics
Email: sdcwalsh@umn.edu
Research Interests: applied mathematics, granular material flow, Lattice-Boltzmann simulations, percolation theory, numerical modeling, multiphase fluid flow
Other Interests:
Stuart received his Ph.D. in Applied Mathematics from the University of Melbourne, Australia, in fall 2005. Since August 2006 he has been conducting research as a postdoc in the geofluids group. Stuart is working on a number of projects such as developing a Lattice-Boltzmann (LB) code for fluid flow simulations, a percolation-theoretic code to study object connectivity in magmas, and coupled DEM/LB modeling to investigate liquid, bubble, particle interactions in magmas and other complex fluids.

The University of Minnesota is an equal opportunity educator and employer.
