Professional equipment mover, Tom Klugee (wearing baseball cap) takes the 1000 ton press off the truck and up to the entrance to Kolthoff Hall with a forklift.
But the combined weight of the press (10,000 lbs.) and the forklift (6000 lbs) was greater than the rated load for the hallways of Kolthoff,

Then it was amateur hour (that's us).  Tom K. supervised while about 10 of us pushed the press down the hall, rolling it on two iron bars.  It took about 3 1/2 hours
to go about 50 feet.  It would have taken longer if Maik hadn't been there.....
