Social Events
Paleolimnology symposia are renowned for their social events, and the 10th Symposium will be no exception. A special, not-to-be-missed, opening mixer is scheduled for Sunday evening (prior to the start of the conference) at the historic Union Depot and Lake Superior Railroad Museum – one of the five greatest rail museums in the country – where the rich cultural history of Duluth, Minnesota’s great iron mines, and the “head of the Lakes” come alive. The evening mixer will include tasting from local breweries, live music, and more. A mid-conference (optional) banquet will be held in the Great Lakes Aquarium, where dinner will be served beneath (in front of) floor-to-ceiling aquaria of Lake Superior fishes and displays of the world’s other great lakes.
