My Research

Development of Fluvial system model

Period: 2003 - Present
Goal: To develop a cellular model for large scale- fluvial system
Co-Researchers: Chris Paola, John Swenson, Juan Fedele(U. of Minnesota)
More details...

Analyze shoreline position and channel migration pattern from digital image data
Prediction of the Shoreline position during XES 02-1 Run

Period: 2002 - Present
Goal: To make a
software to detect shoreline position and channel position from digital image of XES 02-1 run. Interpretation of the shoreline migration and the channel migration pattern is valuable mean to test quantitative models we have developed.
Co-Researchers: Chris Paola, John Swenson, Nikki Strong, Michael Kelberer(U. of Minnesota)

Environmental Fluid Dynamics Code study

Period: 2002
Goal: To study EFDCode
Co-Researchers: George Voulgaris, Yong-Hoon Kim(U. of South Carolina)
More details...

Sedimentary basin analysis of the offshore Korean Tertiary southern Ulleung Basin

Period: 2000 - 2001
Goal: To reproduce evolution of the Ulleung Basin, East Sea of Korea, using SEDPAK
Co-Researchers: Daekyo Cheong(Kangwon National Univ.), C.G.St.C Kendall(U. of South Carolina)

Numerical analysis for fluid flow and sediment transport process on an artificial lake

Period: 1998 - 2000
Goal: To Predict changes in the fluvial sedimentation by construction of a dam, using SEDSIM
Co-Researchers: YoungHun Lee, Kyung-Duk Min(Yonsei Univ.), Daekyo Cheong(Kangwon National Univ.)
