Research Interests

My work at the Minnesota Geological Survey centers on mapping the surficial (glacial) geology of the state. I find the landforms and deposits much easier to interpret if I can understand the dynamics of the ice that created them. My research interests span the separate but related fields of glacial geology (the deposits and landforms created by glaciers) and glaciology (the study of the physics of ice movement). I enjoy bringing current research topics into the classroom.
