  • Sharon M. Locke, PhD, 1995, A paleohydrologic model applied to the Holocene sediment stratigraphy of two lakes in north-central Minnesota.

Research Interests

My early research interests were primarily in the field of arid-region geomorphology and Minnesota glacial geology, but in the late 1950's I recognized the importance of vegetational history in Quaternary studies, and in 1958 I established a Pollen Laboratory and in 1963 the Limnological Research Center. Since that time my research has expanded into the fields of ecology, limnology, paleoecology, and archaeology, with projects in Iraq, Iran, Labrador, Peruvian Andes, Sweden Siberia, Bulgaria, and Ireland as well as in New Mexico, Alaska, and Minnesota.
